Ready to make a difference by working in a world-leading, transformative program?
Our research has shown genomic medicine improves health outcomes – from genetic conditions that affect the heart, immune system, kidneys, nervous system or blood, to complex conditions in children, cancer care, and infection control.
The focus now is to embed genomics into everyday medicine – to ensure a resilient system capable of responding to current, emerging and future health challenges – for the health and wellbeing of all Victorians. The Alliance has pioneered a model for preparing the healthcare system to adopt genomics – by testing genomic sequencing in real-world care and evaluating its impact, preparing and upskilling the medical workforce and building data systems to support genomic testing and data management.
The Melbourne Genomics team work with experts from across our collaborating member: 10 leading hospitals, research and academic organisations – The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, The University of Melbourne, WEHI, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, CSIRO, Australian Genome Research Facility, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Austin Health and Monash Health.
