The Board of Directors for Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance comprises leaders of the 10 member organisations, with an independent Chair.

Catherine Walter is Chair of Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance Board, and is a lawyer and company director.

Ms Walter is the Chairperson of Financial Adviser Standards & Ethics Authority, a member of the Reserve Bank of Australia’s Payments System Board,  a Director of Australian Foundation Investment Company and Trustee of the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust.  She is a former Chair of Federation Square Pty Ltd and the Australian Synchrotron Company Ltd, Deputy Chair of Victorian Funds Management Corporation and a Director of ASX, National Australia Bank Ltd, Orica Ltd and the Melbourne Business School.
